Campaign Story
My name is Jessica, and my greatest hope has always been to become a mother. This year, just before I turned 41, that dream felt within reach when I became pregnant for the first time. But in September, our joy shattered. We learned our baby had several genetic abnormalities, with the main diagnosis being triploidy syndrome, and we had to say goodbye. The loss was a heartbreak I can barely put into words. Yet, that brief pregnancy gave me a fragile hope: I know my body can carry a child. My partner and I are more determined than ever to grow our family, but we face profound challenges. We live across Canada from each other and the cost to be together during my fertile window is immense, with flights ranging from $3,000 to $7,000 each time. Navigating this journey largely on my own, the financial strain of travel and treatments has felt overwhelming. Recently, we received another difficult update. Our fertility specialist shared that my ovaries are in very poor condition and using a donor egg is now our best path forward. We are searching for a donor, but we are stunned by the complexity and the significant costs involved, on top of the travel and treatment expenses we already face. We are humbly asking for your support to help cover these costs, which include donor egg expenses, fertility procedures like IVF, and the travel needed for us to be together. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly helps us take one more step toward building our family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for considering being part of our story. With your help, we still believe our future can be filled with the love and hope of holding our child in our arms.
